About the role:
The primary responsibility of the role is to promote and maintain the physical, mental, and social well-being of all employees.
The Occupational Health Nurse will deliver the occupational health services needed to meet or exceed regulatory compliance and company guidelines.
As a nurse at BSC, you will be instrumental in implementing and delivering occupational health programs to our employees in order to achieve a healthy and safe work environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Provide appropriate assessment and nursing care for employees, including work-related and non-work-related illness and injuries, following current nursing guidelines Maintain confidentiality of employee health information as mandated by HIPPA and Boston Scientific Management of Workers Compensation Cases Filing work related injury/illness claims Work collaboratively with EHS on incident investigations and other EHS issues or projects Maintain OSHA log Ensure compliance with local, state, federal and Boston Scientific rules, and regulations Identify employees with actual or potential occupational exposures, including chemical biological, radiation and ergonomic, and determine needs for baseline and annual medical surveillance Manage OSHA required medical surveillance programs such as hearing conservation, bloodborne pathogens, respirator etc.
Manage onsite flu clinic Work with business partners in accommodations process Participate in workplace ergonomics, office, laboratory, and manufacturing Participate in the corporate Occupational Health Council meetings Work with cross functional team on occupational health initiatives Communicate and maintain working relationship with employees', business partners, medical providers, insurance carriers, and corporate partners Serve as a health and wellness resource to all employees What we're looking for in you:
Required Qualifications 5
years of Occupational Health Nursing Experience Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree OR Certified OHN with 5 plus years of experience Must be fluent in both Spanish and English Currently holds an IN RN License or holds a license in a compact state Current CPR/AED certification required COHN/COHNS preferred - must be willing to pass certification exam within 3 years of hire Preferred Qualifications Able to perform nursing assessment, following medical protocols provided by standing orders and medical director Experience in case management and return to work programs Knowledge/experience in OSHA recordkeeping requirements, medical monitoring programs, and other OSHA required programs such as respirator protection, hearing conservation, and bloodborne pathogens Basic knowledge of safety, ergonomic, toxicology and epidemiology Strong clinical background and knowledge of medical treatment protocols General knowledge of other related business disciplines for a variety of complex problems where analysis of data is required Requisition ID:
